History: I have always wanted to own a tandem. I borrowed this bike from BF a few times (it was an ex-demo bike which was for sale), and then when Misha asked me about going riding, I decided I needed to buy it - I needed a date bike! Which worked out well, since we are still riding it now we are engaged (Misha christened the bike 'Twinkle'). The captains cockpit fit me really well with little adjustment, and it is one of the best handling tandems I have ridden - very light to control. Misha says the stoker seat is comfortable too! I need to put it on the scalesa to find the actual weight, but with the titanium tubes and full Dura-Ace groupset it is barely heavier than a single bike. I recently expanded the gear range to help us get over the hill with luggage, and was surprised that a 42-62 double chainset would shift well; easier to deal with than a triple with the same-side drive. I added a plastic 'drop-stop' to prevent the chance of any accidental chain drop. Hanz assures me that it will pack into a single suitcase, which I have yet to try, but we have trips planned so I will be doing that soon!
