History: I have been fasinated by recumbents every since I first came across them. But of course as a teenager there was no way I could afford one. So when it came to choosing a Design and Technology GCSE project, I wanted to build a bike. My parents thought it would be too much work, but my teacher reckoned I could do it. Which I duly did. The finished item was actually rideable, though a bit of a pig - far too long, and not totally structurally sound..... I did learn an awful lot though, and it was a sad day when I finally had to admit that it wasn't worth storing it anymore and took it to the tip. Purpose: Er.... I just wanted a recumbent! It was a fun thing to build too. (sorry about the blurry picture!)  |
