History: This is my second track frame. The first was a second hand Langdale, which was a bit too big for me, and got damaged when my drive chain self destructed whilst racing a points race at Manchester. Dave was built for a friend of mine who only used it once or twice - I bought the frameset from her in (I think) 1998. It is a lovely stiff lugged-and-brazed 753 frame that I used for hillclimbs a few times, and for a lot of track racing, mostly at Reading. New this year is the rear disc wheel, replacing the Uni-Disc covers I used previously - I think combined with the front Zipp and the skinny tubes it looks pretty cool! Purpose: Any and all track racing - with aero bars and a 650C front wheel this bike has won the Reading pursuit champs twice, as well as competing in sprints, derny races and endurance events. There's nothing quite like the simple joy of fixed gear on a velodrome! ![]()
