History: A friend very kindly gave me the frameset, and I had enough parts to put it together for £50. It was originally assembled for trials riding - I had been using Stumpy, but it was taking rather a beating. Previously it had been a showbike for a plating and anodising company: hence the gold plating (24 carat!) on the seatpost and headset. When I went to University it was my only mtb, so I added a second chainring and front derailleur. Purpose: General hacking about - from scooting down to the shops to a bit of urban trials messing about. Also good for leading guided rides - neither Stumpy likes going slow, whereas the upright position on this bike is great for cruising the trails. Seems to be pretty much indestructable, given the abuse I have thrown at it so far! ![]()
